Got Ubuntu 5.10 in the Mail

December 1, 2005

Got a registered mail notice this morning.  Finally, I got my set of Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy Badger) CDs.

Had to pick it up from the post office, though.  I got my version 5.04 package sent directly to my home address.  And I had to pay a PhP 30 (approximately US$ 0.60) “customs inspection” fee.

I have quite a handful of installer and live-CD kits for Intel, AMD64 (including Xeon and Opteron), and PowerPC (Macs).  If you’re in Manila (or nearby provinces) and you’d like a copy, and would rather not download the entire 700mb disc image or wait three weeks for Canonical’s shipit delivery, please do get in touch with me.  I’ll send you copies for the cost of mailing and incidental expenses (like my fare to the post office?)–shouldn’t go past PhP 100.
