Cool PR stuff

March 30, 2005

Yesterday afternoon, a colleague paid me perhaps the highest of compliments (for a personal publisher) by likening me to Microsoft’s Robert Scoble,
with the way I blog (i.e. on a personal basis, but  clearly
identifiable with a corporate entity).  “How I wish,” I was quick
to reply.  I wish my readership (both quantity and quality) were
at par or even ten percent of that of Scoble.

Anyway, JP and I had an extended chat on official matters, and I
learned much about PR stuff, especially in the virtual realm.
Cool!  I never realized PR had such complicated dynamics.
It’s not only marketing, but with a mix of psychology and even
economics.

I got myself on board the i.ph news blog as a contributor.  Check out my first post.  Team or group blogging seems a good great idea to me.  Much like how IEBlog, MSDN weblog, BloggerBuzz and BlogIT are.  Not as dynamic as wikis, but works the same way: provides for online collaboration.

I find PR fascinating because of my interest in public speaking and presentations. Any notes from your conversation?

One of my favorite blogs about cultivating users is Creating Passionate Users. Same people who created the wonderful "Head First" technical book series. They know their stuff. =)
